The Centre for Astrophysics at  the University of Porto (CAUP) invites
applications    for    a    post-doctoral    position    in    OPTICAL
INTERFEROMETRY.  The position  is for  one  year starting  as soon  as
possible with a possible extension of up to plus three years.

The  postdoc will be  activelly involved  in the  studies for  the 2nd
generation  ESO/VLTI   imager  instrument  concept   (VITRUV)  led  by
Laboratoire d'Astrophysique de  Grenoble, France. During her/his first
year  the  postdoc  will  mainly  devote his/her  time  to  the  image
reconstruction & science teams of the project.  In the extended period
the  postdoc  will contribute  to  the  astrophysical exploitation  of
existing optical interferometers and the instrument studies.

Applications will be received from 1 February to 5 March 2006.
