PHD AND DIPLOMA SCHOLARSHIPS TO BUILD AND USE 1.4 THZ RECEIVER

The 1.4 THz receiver group at the university of Cologne is
looking for talented PhD and Diploma students to work on
instrumentation and astronomy. We are building a heterodyne receiver
at 1.4THz using the latest technology (HEB, solid state
oscillators). The instrument will be used on ground based telescopes
as well as the SOFIA airplane observatory to investigate massive star
forming regions, the warm interstellar medium, etc. The project
covers a wide range of activities from the initial design of
the instrument, to building, testing, making astronomical observations
and interpreting the data. If you are interested please have a look at
