employer superannuation plus leave loading.)
The Department of astrophysics at UNSW is a growing and active group,
consisting of six academic staff, eleven postdoctoral fellows and a dozen
graduate students. We have excellent departmental computing facilities.
Staff members regularly obtain time on national, international and space
based facilities. We also operate the Mopra 22-m millimetre-wave
telescope at Coonabarabran, Australia and the Automated Patrol Telescope
at Siding Spring Observatory. Research activities in the department
include star formation and the interstellar medium, searching for
extrasolar planets, studies of high redshift galaxies, clusters of
galaxies and quasars, cosmology, Antarctic astronomy, IR astronomy, and
astronomical instrumentation.
The School of Physics invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for
the position of Research Associate in Observational Molecular Line
Astronomy to work with Dr Maria Hunt. The successful candidate will be

astrophysics; experience in observational millimetre wave molecular line
astronomy, and analysis and interpretation of data; strong research
skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate the results of research
in peer-reviewed journals; excellent oral and written communication
