POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH POSITION IN HIGH ENERGY ASTROPHYSICS

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position in high
energy
astrophysics at the Astronomy Division, University of Oulu, Finland.
The position is funded by the  Academy of Finland.
The successful applicant is expected to work with Prof. Juri Poutanen
on the analysis and theoretical modeling of the X-ray and gamma-ray
observations of X-ray binaries, active galactic nuclei, or
gamma-ray bursts. Experience in analyzing X-ray and gamma-ray data would
be a plus, though not strictly required for consideration.

The appointment is initially for one year and is renewable for a second
year. Applicants should send a CV, a list of publications, and a brief
statement of research accomplishments and interests, and arrange for three
letters of reference to be sent to the address below.
Starting date is negotiable and can be immediate.
Preference will be given to applications received by 1 September 2002.
