Bonjour,

Pourriez-vous diffuser cette annonce de proposition de post-doc ?
Merci.
Karine.

 ************************
A postdoctoral research position is available at the University of Bern
in the Solar Physics group. The opening begins October 1, 2001.
The group's overall research program is concerned with particle
 populations
in the solar wind, planetary magnetospheres, cometary atmospheres, and
the local interstellar medium. Depending on qualification and interest
work can either be on data anaylsis and/or on experimental issues.

Data analysis will cover processing, data analysis, interpretation, and
modelling related to results from the solar wind particle instrument
suite CELIAS on the SOHO mission. In addition, participation in
 post-launch calibration activities
is required. Experimental work includes developing, testing, and
calibrating of instruments for the STEREO mission as well as design and
development of instrumentation for future solar missions, e.g. Solar
 Orbiter. The pursuit of
independent projects within the general scope of the group is possible
 and desirable.

The candidate will work in a multi-cultural environment and some
knowledge of a local language (German or French) is of advantage. Our
group maintains close collaborations with several partners in the US
and
EU. Candidates must have a PhD in physics or astrophysics (at the
latest
at the time of the appointment), previous experience in space physics
is
 not required.
Further enquiries and applications may be addressed to either Prof. P.
Bochsler (peter.bochsler@soho.unibe.ch) or to Dr. P. Wurz
 (peter.wurz@soho.unibe.ch).
