        POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP IN COSMOLOGY
        ---------------------------------------------

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the University of
Oslo announces a postdoctoral research fellowship in cosmology, vacant
from August 1, 2000, for a period of up to 3 years.

The salary is according to pay scale 49, presently NOK 325,300 per

Astrophysics. The Institute of Theoretical Astrophysics leads the
Norwegian participation in ESA's Planck project, and the position is
related to this participation. The main duty of the postdoctoral
research fellow is to do research of relevance for the Planck project,
which should include development and simulation of data analysis
methods for Planck data.

The applicant must at the application deadline have fulfilled the
requirements for a Ph.D. in astronomy, physics or a related field
enabling her/him to do high quality research in Planck related
cosmology.

Application, including CV, list of publications, short statement of
research interests, copies of relevant certificates, and two letters
of recommendation, should be sent to:

Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences
University of Oslo
Att.: Gro Corell
P.O. Box 1032 Blindern
N-0315 Oslo
