Assignment: In the framework of the EU supported program "Cosmo.Lab -
A Tool for Stereographic Visualization and Analysis of Astrophysical
Data", you will be in charge of the preparation of the tools for the
stereographic visualization and scientific analysis of galaxy catalogs
(especially the ones obtained by the VIRMOS Consortium).

As a member of the IFCTR scientific staff, you will be encouraged
to conduct active astronomical research up to 40% of the time in
fields related to the VVDS (VLT-VIRMOS Deep Survey)

the XMDS (XMM Medium Deep Survey) or the XMM-LSS (XMM Large
Scale Structure Survey)

Education: University Diploma in Astronomy, Physics or equivalent

Experience and knowledge: A basic astronomical background is required;
the will to work in a team and to learn new techniques is essential.
A working knowledge of a programming language is required, knowledge
of C and/or C++ is an asset.

Starting date: September 1 or October 1, 2001.
The two year appointment will be made following a public selection.
The gross amount of the fellowship is 15493.71 euros per year
(approximately 1100 euros net per month).
